World book day 2024

Dear Parents/Carers,

World Book day is on Thursday 7 th March 2024. World Book Day is a day where children of all ages will come together to appreciate reading. Rolls Crescent will be recognising World Book Day by having a number of activities to promote the enjoyment of books and the valuable part they play in our education.

This year we will give all children a free ‘World Book Day’ voucher worth £1.00 which can be exchanged for a specially produced World Book Day book or as £1.00 off the cost of a full priced book.

Also, this year we want our children to ‘get comfortable’ reading and invite pupils and staff to come to school in their comfiest clothes or even pyjamas to help celebrate World Book Day.

There will be lots of activities delivered during the day to help promote a love of reading, please remember to ask your children what they did to celebrate after the day! We will also be putting a recorded story on Seesaw for your child to enjoy through the week of World Book Day.

Finally, we would really like to collect some pictures of your children reading in unusual places at home or out and about with you. If you could send pictures to worldbookday24@rolls-crescent.manchester.sch.uk we would love to show them in our World Book Day assembly, display them around school and show you them on Seesaw. (They will not be put on social media without your consent.)
